Hi there! I’m Daniela …

… the human being behind Andes and Beyond

To be honest, I don’t really like to write “About me” pages. I never know how to start and what to say without sounding boring or just listing facts.

Well, perhaps you’d like to see some pictures first. There are not so many pictures of me actually. I don’t like selfies and I’m often not in the mood to ask someone to take a picture of me.

I was born in Germany and always wanted to leave as I simply don’t identify with that country at all.

At the age of 20, I took my first flight to Latin America and went to Venezuela for a holiday – a country I really hope to return to once the political situation allows it.

8 years later, I prolonged my vacation in Brazil to about two years. Well, I have to mention that I have two kids with a Brazilian passport, so I didn’t live there illegally.

After returning to Germany totally broke, I kept a low profile and patiently waited for my time to come to give it another try.

I started to work online as a side hustle in 2012 and almost two years later, I became a digital nomad and permanent traveller.

Nowadays, I have my residency in Peru and keep on exploring Latin America.

I prefer warm weather and being close to the ocean although I’m not fond of beaches. However, I also travel to cooler places – but try not to stay for very long.

Apart from Andes and Beyond, I also run the Digital Nomads Peru website.
